An outbreak of listeriosis suspected to have been caused by rainbow trout.
An outbreak of listeriosis in Sweden, consisting of nine cases, was investigated by means of molecular typing of strains from patients and strains isolated from suspected foodstuffs, together with interviews of the patients. Listeria monocytogenes was isolated from six of the patients, and all isolates were of the same clonal type. This clonal type was also isolated from a "gravad" rainbow trou...
متن کامل“First, Do No Harm”: Have the Health Impacts of Government Bills on Tax Legislation Been Assessed in Finland?
As taxation is one of the key public policy domains influencing population health, and as there is a legal, strategic, and programmatic basis for health impact assessment (HIA) in Finland, we analyzed all 235 government bills on tax legislation over the years 2007–2014 to see whether the health impacts of the tax bills had been assessed. We found that health impacts had been assessed for 13 bil...
متن کاملTyping Listeria monocytogenes isolates from fish products and human listeriosis cases.
Seventy-two Listeria monocytogenes isolates originating from 10 different fish products of 12 producers and 47 isolates from human listeriosis cases were typed by serotyping and multilocus enzyme electrophoresis. Seventy-five of these isolates were further subtyped by restriction analysis of genomic DNA with the enzyme XhoI and by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis using the enzymes ApaI and SmaI...
متن کاملHuman Listeriosis Caused by Listeria ivanovii
Two species of Listeria are pathogenic; L. monocytogenes infects humans and animals, and L. ivanovii has been considered to infect ruminants only. We report L. ivanovii-associated gastroenteritis and bacteremia in a man. This isolate was indistinguishable from prototypic ruminant strains. L. ivanovii is thus an enteric opportunistic human pathogen.
